Introducing Community Celebrations: The Show Before the Show
Hey, it’s me…Gilles. I am writing with some awesome news:
Starting this season, every performance in our Haugh Presents… series kicks off 90 minutes early — right out on the Haugh PAC patio, and it's free for everyone.
We're calling them Community Celebrations, and the idea is simple: before you ever take your seat, we want you to feel like you've already had a night out. Each celebration is themed to match the show that follows, so the fun starts long before the curtain rises. If you joined us on the patio before SO GOOD: The Neil Diamond Experience, you heard Citrus College’s own Night Shift and maybe had some good food as well.
Selena tribute show? Warm up with a free Cumbia dance class. Our mind-bending mainstage illusionist, REZA: Edge of Illusion, takes the stage after four close-up magicians work small tables just outside the Haugh lobby, pulling off tricks you'll swear were impossible. Uptown: A Celebration of Motown of Soul fans can grab the mic for a night of karaoke. Our Eagles tribute night featuring Hotel California starts with a drum circle. Bring the kids in costume for a parade before our Channel 2K Live, our concert celebrating music and characters made famous on the Disney Channel, or test your knowledge at a trivia contest ahead of Gravity, a concert featuring three famous and WICKED Elphaba’s from London’s West End.
Alongside every pre-show activity, you'll find food and drink for purchase — a themed meal or mocktail, ice cream, and baked goodies — all designed around the show.
(If you joined us on the patio before SO GOOD: The Neil Diamond Experience, you heard Citrus College’s own Night Shift and maybe had some good food as well.)
But here's the most important part: Community Celebrations are open to the entire community, free of charge, whether or not you have a ticket to that show. They're not an add-on — they're the point. Bring your friends. Meet new ones. Dance, laugh, and connect with your neighbors before the music even starts.
Because coming to the Haugh has never just about a show title on a marquee. It's an experience. A great date night. A night out with old friends and new ones. And honestly? One of the best values for your entertainment dollar in town.
So come early. Stay for everything.
Hope to see you at the Haugh.
Gilles
